Job Title: Quality/Compliance Assistant

Salary: £20,00 to £25,000

Eden Futures provides high quality, person- led care, support, and enablement for people with disabilities and support needs. We develop services around the individual at all stages of their care pathway from treatment and support under the Mental Health Act, on discharge from hospital under a CTO, to lifestyle support in the community.

Job Title: Quality/Compliance Assistant

Reporting to: Director of Quality

Salary: £20,000-£25,000 + Car Allowance

The post holder profile:

  • You will be committed to helping support operational managers to maintain good quality services.

  • You will be extremely organised and have an ability to take on board new information and process it.
  • You will be pivotal in helping the Quality Team to be effective across the organisation.

The post holder will be required to:

  • Work as part of both the Quality and Health and Safety parts of the team.
  • Visit services to support in meeting compliance and other quality standards.
  • Advise service managers on actions to ensure compliance in line with company policies.
  • Report on outstanding actions and completion of relevant action plans.
  • Use electronic systems to support understanding of service audits, event reporting and other key information. This will include the use of spreadsheets.
  • Complete investigations as directed by the Quality Director and produce appropriate reports in addition to providing information to support any ongoing learning.
  • Complete finance and medication audits to provide assurance of safe systems.
  • Understand company policies in order to be able to advise services of actions required.
  • Be part of a team providing advice, support and education on quality, governance, and risk management in both a proactive and, where necessary, a reactive way.
  • Support service staff to develop support plans and risk assessments that are of good quality and evidence the needs and choices of service users. This may be practical support in addition to advice and guidance.
  • Provide practical support to meet action plans when required. This may be as a result of internal or external audit.
  • Support services in the completion of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans).
  • Provide support to the H&S function as directed.
  • Be a strong advocate for the group both internally and externally and promote the work of the organisation to all stakeholders in a positive manner
  • Monitor ERIC and RADAR reporting as directed..
  • Participate in actions that support regulatory (CQC) compliance as directed.
  • Be a visible presence within the services, both during announced and unannounced visits, so that areas of concern can be identified and raised with the operational team.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the Quality Director and the team to provide information on current work, ongoing priorities, and feedback from services throughout the organisation.
  • Work with members of the quality team and the Quality Director to understand best practice and benchmark audit outcomes and decision making.

This could be a development role for the right candidate and full training and guidance will be given in all areas.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • A proven track record of working in the sector. Experience in supported living services is essential and other experience with mental health or autism would be an advantage. Experience should be 3+ years.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements within services.
  • Management experience not essential but would be an advantage – home leader, senior support worker, team leader for example.
  • An interest in improving quality and compliance and an understanding of areas that indicate good quality in services.
  • An understanding of current and future challenges facing the care sector and an interest in developing knowledge in this area.
  • An understanding of spreadsheets and capability/aptitude for other electronic systems such as those for auditing and event reporting. Training will be given.
  • A clear commitment and understanding of equality and diversity requirements.
  • A willingness to undertake additional training to support the role.

SKILLS:

  • A commitment to working in a collaborative way as part of the wider quality team.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and develop knowledge within the post.
  • A strong commitment to the delivery of excellent services that meet the needs of those we support
  • An ability to work independently and organise work to meet identified priorities.
  • An effective communicator – both verbally and in written communication.
  • The ability to work with service staff in a supportive way to facilitate improvements in quality or health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum NVQ2 but NVQ 3 or above would be an advantage.

ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

  • Must have a clear DBS
  • This position will require the post holder to travel so a full clean UK driving licence is essential together with use of a car.
  • There will be a requirement for some overnight stays to facilitate support across the region
