Internal Trainer – Supported Living


Job Title: Internal Trainer – Supported Living

Closing Date: 09-Jul-2021

Location: Newark base with travel to all Eden Services to deliver training

Part or Full Time: Full time

Salary: 20,000 to 25,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week (flexible working considered)

We develop services around the individual at all stages of their care pathway from treatment and support under the Mental Health Act, on discharge from hospital under a CTO, to lifestyle support in the community. Reporting to: Lead Trainer

The duties of a Trainer fall under the following Competencies:
Section A: Delivery of Training
Section B: Collaborative Working
Section C: Compliance
Section D: Continuing Professional Development

Section A. Delivery of Training
• Delivery of training to new and existing staff in line with the planned training schedules and delivering to the agreed content of each course
• Be responsive to the needs of the business to deliver short notice training in line with operational or business needs
• Delivery training at any of the services within the UK
• Training includes (and is not limited to):
• Maybo
• Hoisting
• Trauma
• Self-Harm & Ligature
• Suicide Awareness
• Safeguarding
• Medication
• All aspects of organisational induction and new courses as and when required

Section B. Collaborative Working
• Have a good understanding of current operational requirements by spending planned time in services shadowing Support Workers and Team Managers
• Sharing ideas for improvements in processes or delivery of training
• Encouraging feedback from learners to ensure we are continuously improving
• Supporting the apprenticeship process
• Be professional, positive and act as a brand Ambassador both in terms of delivery of courses and partnership working with the wider business
• Integrate with the wider teams and contribute to process improvements

Section C. Compliance
• Have a good understanding of the compliance requirements in relation to regulated activity and the people we support
• Follow compliance requirements in relation to the delivery of training both face to face and via Zoom
• Follow the course content and deliver the agreed subject matter in line with the material provided
• Actively and positively welcome auditing and feedback to encourage consistency of training delivery and continuous improvement

Section D. Continuing Professional Development
• Updating market knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
• Maintaining Professional networks with key stakeholders
• 100% compliance with own refresher training

Person Specification:
• Up to date and practical experience of working in an operational role within the social care sector
• Ideally has experience of delivering up to date, mandatory training, ideally with a focus around specialist training in social care (such as Maybo, PBS, Trauma, Self-Harm, Suicide & Ligature) although candidates that can demonstrate experience in these subjects yet haven’t delivered training can still be considered)
• Willingness to ensure 100% compliance with own refresher training
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Driving licence and use of own car due to the need to delivery training in line with operational requirements
• Ability to deliver training in a confident and professional manner
• Ideally has a recognised training qualification
• Experience of delivering training face to face
• Willingness to work flexibly
• Willingness to keep up to date with relevant legislation and CPD
