HR Manager

Job Description

Eden Futures provides high quality, person centred care, support and enablement for people with disabilities and support needs. We develop services around the individual at all stages of their care pathway from treatment and support under the Mental Health Act, on discharge from hospital under a CTO, to lifestyle support in the community.

Location: Newark or home based with the flexibility to travel to all Eden Futures services within the UK as required. Regular visits to the Newark office will be required.

Job Purpose

This is an exciting new role which will oversee the implementation and delivery of employee engagement from onboarding through to exit. This is a hands on, operational role which will require full integration into the operations teams to ensure we achieve a consistent approach to the employee experience for all staff.

Main Duties

• Analyse existing data and working with the Head of HR (HoHR) to develop the employee engagement strategy
• Review the current candidate and employee experience and using this information to develop robust and deliverable improvements
• Drive people centric focus across all processes and programmes
• Provide assistance and hands on guidance to managers to ensure we are implementing the processes consistently
• Develop and monitor new KPI’s to monitor the performance of the processes
• Oversee the onboarding experience for all new starters to ensure the induction plans are being implemented in line with the agreed process, ensuring all managers are equipped to implement an exceptional new starter process
• Manage the L&D Coordinator and work with them to review the internal processes and implement automation where possible whilst providing excellent internal customer experience
• Line manage the Lead Recruiter and oversee the recruitment processes in line with industry best practice and attract the best possible candidates through proactive recruitment techniques
• Line manager the Lead Trainer and oversee the L&D processes to ensure they are
• Manage employee engagement surveys and communicate actions and improvements in line with the results
• Review exit interview/questionnaire documentation which will be produced by the HRO and review changes/improvements as required and follow up on actions as necessary
• Develop and manage a mentor/buddy system across all services

HR Manager – Employee Engagement

• Implement robust succession planning processes and oversee the implementation
• Monitor external company reviews, respond to comments, take actions/initiate investigations where necessary and feedback compliments accordingly
• Oversee the accounts for a recruitment partners to ensure they are delivering in line with the service level agreements
• Provide ER related advice/management as and when needed to support the additional HR Managers when required
• Review the current induction processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes so they are fully integrated into the existing processes
• Take ownership of given policies to continually review and improve on a regular basis
• Review employee benefits programmes and recommend improvements where required
• Be the main point of contact for Eden Futures Ambassadors and contribute to meetings and outcomes accordingly
• Development of direct reports in line with their personal development and performance management needs


• Strong HR Management experience with an employee engagement and/or L&D bias
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong IT Skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent leadership skills with a proven successful track record
• Passionate about continuous improvement
• Proven HR operational experience within a hands-on role
• Flexibility in line with operational requirements
• Change management experience
• Experience of delivering exceptional recruitment experience for candidates
• Previous background of developing and implementing onboarding processes to deliver and exceptional candidate experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide hands on support across all levels of the organization
• Previous experience of managing across a multisite HR service
• CIPD qualified preferred
• Professional manner, proactive and ability to coach and mentor
• Proven track record of managing busy workload and priorities
• Proven experience of delivering presentations/communications internally and externally
• Proven ability to liaise with and manage external suppliers/customer relationships
• Driving license and access to own vehicle for business use (car and mileage allowance)
