New supported living service and jobs creation coming to Pudsey

  • Eden Futures launches recruitment drive to assist people in supported living

Eden Futures is actively recruiting for 48 staff members to assist people set to live in new accommodation in Leeds. The supported living service in Pudsey will open Spring 2022 and contain twelve apartments and eight specialist bungalows within a purpose-built development.

Eden Futures works with adults who are autistic, have learning disabilities, enduring mental ill health and high support needs to support them in their everyday life. It’s provided flexible long-term care and support for people for over 25 years across northern England and the Midlands. This involves on-site support like in Pudsey where people live independently but support workers are available 24 hours a day.

Developer Pudsey SSL Limited is building the accommodation for Blue Square Residential and the commissioning teams of NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group and Leeds City Council.

Dave Whittock, director of service development, says: “Each person we support for the local commissioning team has their own tenancy agreement and front door, regardless of how complex their behavioural needs are.

“With a business commitment to open new services to support people in their homes, Eden Futures’ immediate plans include two further schemes in Hull, and ones in Leeds, Nuneaton, Newark, Stoke and Birmingham. We need to fill 250 full time job posts for professional, skilled workers over the next few years. We’re undertaking a significant recruitment drive to provide specialist assistance for people in supported living.”

Eden Futures helps people who live in their own accommodation by providing the care and support packages they need. It currently assists 650 people across 152 sites.

If you know someone who might benefit from a supported living place in Pudsey, you can email referrals@nulledenfutures.org.
