New supported living services and jobs coming to Chesterfield

Eden Futures’ new supported living service in the Brampton area of Chesterfield is taking shape, with the company planning to welcome users next Spring.  As a result, the search is on for 32 new support workers and staff to work there.

Construction is on track. Opening late March 2021, Eden Futures will provide six self-contained apartments and six new build specialist bungalows with built-in assistive technology.

Working with developers The SSL Partnership, social landlord Inclusion Housing and the commissioning team of Derbyshire County Council to provide this new service, it’s 8.5 miles away from Eden Futures’ existing services in the county.

Dave Whittock, director of service development, says: “Despite the challenges of the pandemic we’re moving forward with our plans to meet the shortage of specialist supported living services which are much needed in communities. We welcome applications for the posts to support the service which are advertised on our website.

“We’ve already helped more than 650 people across 150 sites to live in their own home in the community, and we work alongside them and their relatives to achieve this in collaboration with developers, commissioners, landlords and health professionals.  We have a number of schemes under construction across the country including Chesterfield and in Hull, Derby and Newark, creating more than 200 full time jobs in total.”
