Eden Futures is ready to welcome service users to its new Nuneaton development, Weavers Court, which is now open. The development, in a central location of Attleborough, comprises 14 self-contained flats, four of which are accessible for people with physical disabilities with built-in assistive technology. The first service users are likely to move in before the end of 2020, and referrals are being taken for the remaining apartments.
Eden Futures has worked in partnership with Warwickshire County Council and Inclusion Housing to provide the fourteen apartments, creating 22 new jobs.
Dave Whittock, director of service development, says: “We’ve worked collaboratively with our local partners to meet increasing demand and provide additional support. Every person has their own tenancy agreement and their own front door, regardless of how complex their behavioural needs are. We’ve helped many people to live in their own home in their own community and will continue to develop more supported living provision across England next year and beyond.”
Councillor Caborn, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health, Warwickshire County Council, visited site recently to see progress for himself, commenting: “Commissioned by Warwickshire County Council adult social care services and delivered by Eden Futures, in partnership with Inclusion Housing, Weavers Court complements the county’s existing portfolio and will provide adults with disabilities in Nuneaton with the opportunity of independent living.”
Each apartment at Weavers Court has its own bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and lounge-diner, while the shared accommodation includes a communal garden and living room for residents. Assistive technologies and an on-site staff hub enable Eden Futures to provide 24/7 support.
