Team visits new Nuneaton service to check on build progress

Eden Futures’ new supported living service in Attleborough near Nuneaton is taking shape, with the company expecting to welcome users moving in later in the year.

Members of its management team joined colleagues from builders Aspects, Specialist Supported Living and social landlord Inclusion Housing, the County Commissioner from Warwickshire County Council and Attleborough’s councillor for Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, to check on build progress.

Construction for the service being built in a central location in Attleborough is on track. The development comprises 14 self-contained flats, four of which are accessible for people with physical disabilities with built-in assistive technology. Eden Futures has provided flexible long-term care, support and housing solutions for people in this area for over 25 years.

Andy Sargeant, County and Borough Councillor for Attleborough, said: “I was delighted to see first hand the progress made to date to the build to add this supported living service to our community. This type and quality of accommodation provided by Eden Futures is really important to provide more choice for people with complex needs to live in a community setting in our borough.”

Councillor Caborn, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health, Warwickshire County Council, comments: “It is welcome news that construction continues to progress at a great pace. The development, which has been commissioned by Warwickshire County Council adult social care services and delivered by Eden Futures, in partnership with Inclusion Housing, will complement the existing portfolio in the county and provide adults with disabilities in Nuneaton with the opportunity of independent living.”

Dave Whittock, director of service development, adds: “Every person we support has their own tenancy agreement and their own front door, regardless of how complex their behavioural needs are.  We’ve helped many people to live in their own home in their own community. This is achieved by working alongside them with the cooperation of developers, commissioners, landlords and health professionals. This allows us to identify potential new sites where the right accommodation can be built, with the right support system around it so it can operate sustainably, like here in Attleborough. ”
