Dream comes true for Rotheram United fan

A Millers fan with learning difficulties had all of his Christmas’ come at once when he gained VIP access to Rotherham United Football Club to meet the team.

Season ticket holder, Daniel Froud, had breakfast with the clubs manager, Paul Warne, and assistant manager, Richie Barker, before meeting the players and receiving a signed football.

The VIP pass was given to Daniel after his Eden Futures support worker, Steve Hudson, arranged for him to have a special meet and greet at the ground before a game.

Daniel, commented: “I love Rotheram United and I was really happy to have got the chance to meet the manager and players and take a tour of the stadium. It’s made me love the team even more now.”

The 38-year-old, who has lived in Eden Futures’ supported living accommodation for nearly a decade, is helped by support workers to attend all home games and some of the away matches.

Steve Hudson, support worker, added: “Daniel is Rotheram United mad and for as long as I can remember he has had a season ticket and the official merchandise – he even decorated his bedroom in the colours.

“I’m thrilled that he got the chance to meet the team, it was a special day that will stay with him forever.”
