Eden Futures Autism Strategy

To coincide with the World Autism Awareness Week 2016, we have launched the Eden Futures Autism Strategy, which summarises the commitment and ambition of Eden Futures to ensure we are ‘getting it right’ for those entrusted to our support, whose lives are affected by Autism.

Despite the unprecedented financial challenges experienced by the social care sector, we have an ambitious vision to support individuals with Autism to fulfil their potential and lead lives, which are rich with opportunity and understanding, receiving the best possible support from the best possible staff teams.

Lorna Durrant has been appointed as our Autism Lead to inform wider organisational learning and development.

We aim to cultivate, confirm and evidence organisational reputation of specialism within the field of autism fostering confidence from families and commissioners, puts us in a stronger position than our competitors and stimulates business growth.

Laura Young, support worker at Ollerton has been training over 5 years and in 2015, with a gentle push from her coach (Stacie Ridley, Service Development Manager in North West), began competing in the Regional Finals, in an attempt to qualify for the British Championships.

After placing 3rd and 5th at Regional Finals, Laura received confirmation that she had qualified to compete in the Women’s Disability Category for British Championships for Trampolining held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on 12th/13th September 2015.
